A Letter From Our General Manager

To our valued Adventureland Guests,

Bill Lentz, General Manager, Adventureland ResortHello! My name is Bill Lentz and it’s a pleasure to introduce myself as the new General Manager of Adventureland Resort. I am incredibly excited to open the park for our 2022 season in May and welcome you all back for another summer of fun at the Home of Iowa’s Best Thrills.

Though I am new to Adventureland, I am very familiar with amusement park operations. I have worked in the industry for more than 30 years, spending most of the past decade with Palace Entertainment. Since joining the Palace family, I have overseen eleven different parks located throughout the U.S. and Australia. I am proud to have served on the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions’ (IAAPA) Water Park and Retail Committees, as well as the advisory board of Jeff Ellis & Associates, the world leader in aquatic safety. I have also completed IAAPA’s Amusement Industry Institute Program.

While it may come as a surprise to some, amusement parks bustle with activity in the offseason, especially with less than a month until the park opens. That is especially the case at Adventureland this year, where our team has been hard at work installing the nine new rides debuting this season, offering riders tall and small some big-time fun! Check out all of our rides and attractions here.

At Palace Entertainment and Adventureland, safety is our top priority and a constant focus in every area of operations. We have conducted comprehensive reviews of every element of the park as we implement our safety practices, which meet or exceed those set by the state of Iowa and ASTM International, a global leader in best practices for maintaining and operating amusement rides and attractions. We have created two new positions to support these efforts, overseeing Operations and Health, Safety and Environmental, respectively. Our staff will be well prepared for the season, thanks to an intensive slate of training for team members at all levels, from resort management to first-year seasonal employees. Learn more about our safety practices.

On behalf of the Palace Entertainment and Adventureland teams, thank you for your support. I can’t wait to hear the laughter and see the smiles of guests enjoying our 100+ attractions, relaxing at the Adventureland Inn and Campground, and grabbing a bite while watching a game at Spectators Sports Bar & Grill. Thank you, be well, and I look forward to seeing you this summer!

Best regards,

Bill Lentz
