Are you a lover of classic wooden roller coasters? A visit to Adventureland Resort simply isn’t complete without a ride on the park’s oldest and most classic wooden roller coaster, Tornado.
Tornado has been providing visitors with family-sized thrills for nearly 50 years. The stunning white roller coaster is an aesthetic spectacle all on its own, but the ride itself is a nostalgic adventure beckoning you to give it a go.
At over 3,200 feet long, the wooden roller coaster packs quite the punch, so gear up for a wild good time! Buckle up tightly– you’re in for quite the ride. When the coaster leaves the station, it first dips down a small hill, around a banked curve, and up a large hill to prepare for the first and largest drop of the ride. As the coaster gains momentum, it goes through a series of ups, downs, and turns. When the ride is nearly finished, the coaster goes around its final banked curve before heading back to the station.
This coaster is one of the most popular rides at the park, and for good reason. With no “scary” upside-down loops or ultra-thrilling turns, it is the perfect family-sized thrill. Riders must be at least 48” tall to enjoy a ride on Tornado.
What are you waiting for? Travel back in time as you go for a ride on this nostalgic, wooden roller coaster!
